Modern Elegance: A Luxury Shaker Kitchen in Pinner, West London
Designing a kitchen that seamlessly blends timeless character with modern sophistication is no small feat. In this project, our goal was to create an open-plan kitchen for a contemporary family home—one that honours traditional design principles while embracing sleek, modern living. The result is a refined and highly functional space that perfectly balances classic elegance with cutting-edge innovation.
The Design Brief: Where Tradition Meets Modern Living
The client envisioned a kitchen that felt warm and familiar, yet distinctly current. To achieve this, we reimagined the classic Shaker aesthetic with a contemporary twist—introducing handleless cabinetry for a streamlined, minimalist appearance without losing the charm of traditional craftsmanship.
Clean lines and uncluttered surfaces were central to the brief. A carefully considered floating shelf, crafted from matching worktop material, enhances the sense of openness while offering subtle, practical storage. The overall design creates a space that feels both inviting and architecturally refined—ideal for modern family life and open-plan living.
Premium Finishes & Materials
Every element of this kitchen has been meticulously selected to deliver both durability and visual impact:
Cabinetry: Caledonia Smooth Painted “Deveron” Shaker doors in Farrow & Ball’s rich Studio Green, paired with a powder-coated, colour-matched handle rail for a seamless look
Worktops: 30mm quartz surfaces, chosen for their resilience and understated luxury
Island: A multifunctional centrepiece featuring integrated breakfast bar seating—perfect for casual dining and social interaction
Hob: A flush-fitted venting hob by Bora, maintaining clean sightlines while delivering exceptional performance
Sink: Shaws undermounted ceramic sink in classic white, adding a timeless touch
Appliances: Fully integrated Siemens dishwasher for a cohesive aesthetic
Tap: Quooker 3-in-1 boiling water tap in stainless steel—combining convenience with striking design
Leading Brands, Seamlessly Integrated
This project brings together industry-leading brands known for quality, innovation, and design excellence:
Lighting: Bespoke dome pendant lighting, adding warmth and visual interest above the island
Each component has been thoughtfully integrated to ensure the kitchen not only looks exceptional but performs effortlessly in a busy family environment.
The Result: Effortless Luxury for Everyday Living
The finished space is a masterclass in balance—where classic Shaker detailing meets contemporary minimalism. Rich, deep tones contrast beautifully with crisp surfaces, while integrated technology ensures the kitchen performs as beautifully as it looks.
This project demonstrates how thoughtful design, premium materials, and expert craftsmanship can transform a kitchen into the true heart of the home—tailored for modern living, yet timeless in its appeal.

The project demonstrates how luxury kitchen design can enhance contemporary new builds through thoughtful planning, integrated detailing, and high-quality materials.
Bespoke Kitchen Design for Contemporary New Build
The brief was to create a cohesive interior that feels calm, uncluttered, and architecturally resolved. The kitchen was conceived as an integral part of the home, not as a standalone space, with a neutral palette, seamless cabinetry, and carefully chosen finishes that maximise light and enhance the contemporary aesthetic.
Every decision focused on delivering bespoke kitchens that support everyday living while meeting the expectations of high-end residential design.
Luxury Handleless Kitchen with Integrated Appliances
At the heart of each home sits a luxury handleless kitchen, positioned within an open-plan living space to maintain uninterrupted sightlines and a sense of visual flow. Flush cabinetry and clean surfaces create a timeless backdrop, while subtle tonal contrasts add depth without compromising the minimalist design language.
The handleless format reinforces the architectural intent, making the kitchen feel considered, refined, and perfectly suited to a modern new build.
A Central Peninsular Designed for Entertaining and Everyday Living
A large central peninsular anchors the space, acting as both a functional workspace and a social hub. Designed to suit modern family life and entertaining, it features:
The peninsular enhances usability while preserving the clean, streamlined appearance expected of luxury bespoke kitchens.
Seamless Integration for High-End Kitchen Design
All Miele appliances are fully integrated to maintain a cohesive, uncluttered aesthetic. A recessed stainless steel sink and minimalist tap sit seamlessly within the worktop, combining practicality with a crisp architectural finish.
Caesarstone Fresh Concrete quartz worktops were specified for their durability, low maintenance, and refined appearance, making them ideal for luxury kitchens in contemporary new build homes.
Contemporary Bathrooms
The bathrooms follow the same design principles as the kitchens, ensuring consistency throughout the homes. Duravit wall-hung furniture, concealed storage, and carefully selected finishes create calm, spa-like environments that feel both luxurious and functional.
This cohesive approach reinforces the overall quality of the interiors, supporting the architectural vision from kitchen through to bathroom design.
A Refined Bespoke Kitchen and Bathroom Solution for Modern Living
This project demonstrates how thoughtful design and precision detailing can deliver a luxury bespoke kitchen that feel elegant, practical, and timeless. Every element was considered to ensure the kitchen supports real life while enhancing the overall architecture of the homes.

Kitchen Island Ideas: Expert Tips for Designing an Island That Fits Your Lifestyle
With the festive season approaching, entertaining at home becomes a true source of joy—and a little pride too. A kitchen island is one of the most versatile and impactful additions you can make to your space. But with so many configurations available, knowing where to begin can feel overwhelming.
In this article, our experienced designers share the key elements to consider when creating a kitchen island that suits your lifestyle.
How Will You Use Your Island?
Before choosing materials and finishes, think about how you and your family will use the island day-to-day.
Are you a keen host who loves to lay out an impressive spread? Do you prefer being part of the conversation while you cook? Or perhaps you have a young family and a breakfast bar would make everyday meals much easier.
Many clients choose to position the hob on the island so they can face the room while cooking. We often recommend a venting hob, which removes the need for a bulky overhead extractor and keeps the look sleek and uninterrupted.
If you love to cook, we can design a prep zone beside the hob, so chopped ingredients go straight into the pan. Some clients—including our own Managing Director—opt for a built-in butcher’s block for maximum practicality. Add integrated bins below, and kitchen waste can be swept cleanly straight into the bin.
Smart Storage Designed Around You
A well-designed island can transform your kitchen storage. Depending on your lifestyle, we can incorporate:
– a wine fridge
– storage baskets for produce
– open shelving for recipe books
– glazed cabinets to display glassware
– internal or under-counter lighting to highlight key areas
By understanding how you use your kitchen, we tailor the storage layout to suit your movement and routines.
Choosing the Right Size and Position
Your island should be a focal point—without overpowering the space. As a guideline:
Allow at least 900mm between the island and surrounding cabinetry.
If you have a larger room, 1200mm creates a generous, uncluttered walkway.
These measurements help keep the space functional, comfortable, and visually balanced.
Make Your Kitchen Island a Statement
The finish of your island is where you can showcase your personality.
Mixing materials—such as a timber breakfast bar paired with a marble or porcelain worktop—adds visual interest and luxury. Our designers often recommend porcelain worktops for their durability. Spilled wine or cookie-cutter chaos from the kids won’t give you cause for alarm.
We work closely with our trusted partners at Marble Workshop, a local specialist known for exceptional templating and craftsmanship.
Incorporating Dining Into Your Island
Adding dining or seating to your island can make the kitchen even more inviting. A breakfast bar or built-in banquette offers relaxed, informal seating, while drop-down dining—like the feature we designed at Willow View—creates a more furniture-style, formal setting.
Bringing Your Perfect Island to Life
Ultimately, the best kitchen island is one that works for you. Whether you need a practical prep zone, a social hub, or a show-stopping centrepiece, our team is here to bring your vision to life.

Contemporary Barn Conversions with Luxury German Kitchens
Hentucks Farm
We were proud to collaborate on a remarkable development at Hentucks Farm, a project that involved converting a collection of traditional barns into three stunning contemporary homes. Working alongside a forward-thinking developer, we were tasked with creating sophisticated kitchen spaces that would match the bold architectural vision of the build — and the results speak for themselves.
This award-winning project has been recognised by both the National Building and Construction Awards and the British Homes Awards, and we are honoured to have contributed to its success.
The Brief: Seamless Luxury with Hidden Functionality
The client’s brief was clear: a contemporary kitchen design that would reflect the modern, open-plan feel of the barn conversions, while integrating high-spec functionality. A key requirement was a walk-in pantry, discreetly hidden behind a secret door that would match the surrounding cabinetry — a truly bespoke feature that required meticulous early-stage planning.
We began working with the developer over a year before installation to ensure every detail aligned with the architecture and build schedule. The result? A kitchen that’s both beautiful and brilliantly practical.

Integrated island breakfast bar seating
Flush-fitted Bora venting hob
Blanco Etagon sink in Matt Black
Fully integrated Miele cooling appliances and dishwasher
Miele integrated wine cooler
Quooker 3-in-1 Boiling Water Tap in Matt Black
Every element was chosen to offer a blend of cutting-edge performance and sophisticated visual appeal — perfectly suited for high-end new builds.

A Timeless Traditional Kitchen Designed for Modern Family Living
When it comes to blending period charm with modern functionality, this bespoke traditional kitchen is a perfect example of how thoughtful design can honour a home’s heritage while meeting the demands of contemporary family life.
Set in a beautifully light and airy space, the brief from our client was clear: create a kitchen that felt open, inviting, and in keeping with the character of their period property. The result? A timeless kitchen rooted in tradition, built with precision, and tailored to the needs of a busy family.
A pantry was high on the client’s list of must-haves, and we delivered a solution that’s both functional and beautifully integrated. Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry was designed to discreetly conceal the entrance, creating a seamless continuation of the kitchen design while maintaining easy access to the pantry space behind.
To stay true to the home’s classic architecture, we selected the Caledonia range—known for its elegant shaker-style cabinetry and quality craftsmanship. Together with the client, we carefully curated a colour palette that would enhance the room’s natural light and original features.
The main cabinetry was hand-painted in Farrow & Ball’s Skimming Stone, a warm neutral that complements the texture of the oak ceiling beams. To bring contrast and a touch of personality, the island was painted in Summer Sky, echoing the hues seen through the large windows and doors that open to garden views.
Durable Quartz Worktops for Everyday Life
Family kitchens see a lot of action, which is why we installed quartz worktops in Tuscany White throughout. Not only are these surfaces elegant and timeless, but they’re also durable and low-maintenance—perfect for the hustle and bustle of everyday cooking, entertaining, and family time.
The Island: Heart of the Kitchen
As with many of our traditional kitchen designs, we made the island the focal point of the space. Designed with both beauty and practicality in mind, the island features:
A BORA Pure venting hob—seamlessly integrated with no overhead extraction to maintain clean lines and open sightlines.
Ventilated basket drawers—perfect for storing fresh produce or pantry staples within easy reach.
Generous countertop space for prep, serving, and casual dining.
Seamless Details for an Elevated Finish
To maximise the natural light and make the most of the courtyard view, we positioned the Blanco stainless steel sink beneath the large windows. It’s recessed into the quartz worktop, providing a sleek, uninterrupted surface. The Blanco Candor tap includes a hidden extendable outlet—ideal for rinsing vegetables, fruit, or even the sink itself.
Integrated Appliances with a Purpose
We selected Neff Slide & Hide ovens for their clever design and functionality. The retractable oven door allows for safer and easier access to hot trays, which can be moved effortlessly to the nearby island thanks to the intelligent layout.
A Traditional Kitchen That Works for Modern Living
This kitchen is a true reflection of how a traditional kitchen design can feel both timeless and contemporary. From the classic shaker cabinetry to the subtle colour palette and high-performance appliances, every detail was considered to create a space that’s not only beautiful but built for real life.

It’s time to uncover the perfect colour palette for your kitchen, and we are here to help you do that. The modern era has seen kitchens grow into the high-traffic, multi-purpose hearts of our homes, that we recognise them as today. As functional as they are as a workspace, they also shoulder a great deal of responsibility. Particularly when it comes to providing a relaxing and comfortable environment to spend time in. Gone are the days of kitchens that are solely utilitarian; now they must be warm, welcoming and as much a sanctuary as any other part of the family home.
So what does this mean for the way we address our kitchen decor? Below, we explore some of the rising trends when it comes to kitchen colour schemes. We are sharing our expert advice when it comes to designing the perfect palette to complete your own kitchen renovation project.
Inspired By Nature – Colour Shades of Foliage
This year sees kitchen decor trend collectively towards a more soothing, grounding and nature-inspired colour palette. As we strive to blur the boundaries between the beauty of the natural world and the comfort we seek inside our own homes.
Farrow & Ball’s California Collection brings us Palm. A beautifully soft, desaturated green that poses itself as a love letter to the iconic palms that dress the LA skyline.
Alternatively, Cooking Apple Green brings with it a charmingly familiar feel. Injecting a fresh energy into bright and well-lit spaces whilst simultaneously affording a rich, quaint elegance to darker rooms.
A cooler and less intense alternative is Vert De Terre. Its blue undertone helps it contribute to the softest of atmospheres, lending a soothing tranquillity to any space.
Eco-renowned kitchen manufacturer Häcker’s latest colour drop. The serene Eucalyptus – another nod to the soothing beauty of the natural world. Teams beautifully with lighter wood tones to provide a fresh, nature-inspired backdrop to life in the heart of the home.
A Down-To-Earth Twist On The World Of White
Have we seen the demise of white kitchens? Not at all… but a significant shift from the gleaming showroom finish towards a more organic and natural aesthetic has become apparent. Pairing white countertops with earthy shades like rich Walnut injects a room with warmth, thanks to the shade’s unique depth of colour, and elemental darkness.
Farrow & Ball’s Jitney is a muted alternative, reminiscent of the sandy beaches of the Hamptons, it offers an earthy and uplifting way to soften the room’s decor.
Calming Neutrals: A Natural Sanctuary
A natural colour palette in its purest for. When you combine soft calming neutrals, you create a gentle, enveloping space that calms the mind and soothes the soul. Häcker’s Natural Umber is the perfect way to add a down-to-earth base to your kitchen design, that’s as cosy as it is versatile. A shade that gives both wood and black a radiance all of their own. It’s particularly beautiful when combined with soft, scandi decor.
Hushed, contemporary neutrals, such as Farrow & Ball’s Skimming Stone, will provide maximum versatility to muted backdrops, enabling you to dress the space with lush green houseplants, or get creative with other design elements, such as statement lighting, and decorative accessories.
Opting for a neutral palette not only helps you to transform one of the busiest parts of the home into a zone of calm, but also affords you the flexibility to dress the space up or down, as you see fit.
Bold Is Beautiful – Statement Colour Pieces for your Kitchen
The rise of neutral doesn’t mean that statement colour drops are any less popular, however. Whilst bold shades can seem intimidating, they continue to possess a unique ability to infuse a space with jaw-dropping sophistication. Opting for a darker, bolder cabinetry can help add a timeless luxury to your kitchen space, particularly when paired with a lighter, natural floor and worktop.
Häcker’s new Burgundy shade provides the perfect combination of striking authority, with the appeal of the natural world outside. Since many flowers, leaves and fruit shine in this warm shade of red, it’s a fantastic choice for livening up a nature-inspired colour palette, and will enable you to add impact, without sacrificing the comfort and warmth that we crave from our kitchens as the hub of the family home. Discover more tips on how to incorporate this beautiful shade into your kitchen renovation project, here.

A jaw-dropping centrepiece, show-stopping roast potatoes and a joint of meat as tender as it is tasty… if the responsibility of serving up the perfect Christmas dinner has fallen to you this year, it’s understandable that you might be feeling the pressure. But embrace the challenge with a powerful sidekick, and you needn’t worry about serving anything sub-par. If nervously waiting for the Yorkshire puddings to rise or apologising for soggy potatoes is an all-too-familiar experience, then it might be time to consider investing in a next-generation oven to help you deliver a roast dinner success story, without the stress.
At Watermark, we know that what comes out of your kitchen can be levelled up by what we put in it. Let us introduce you to the first of our state-of-the-art ovens, packed with features designed to make achieving culinary excellence this winter, effortless.
The Miele H 7860 BPX Handless Oven
Smart Technology: Stray From Your Oven Without Worry
A lot of people wish they had a second pair of hands when it comes to serving up the perfect roast dinner – there’s a lot to coordinate, and so many different elements to cook. What about a second set of eyes? This stunning oven from Miele delivers exactly that, with an integrated camera in the ceiling of the oven, so you can keep an eye on what’s cooking from wherever you are. Greeting guests? Opening presents? Check out how the Yorkshire puddings look at the touch of a button, for instant peace of mind and uninterrupted entertaining. The full Miel@Home system means the networking capabilities don’t end there; use the Miele@mobile app to turn your smartphone into your pocket kitchen assistant, or integrate your oven with Alexa to take advantage of voice control features.
Moisture Plus: Succulent Spreads Thanks To Integrated Steam Cooking
You can forget about serving up dry, over-cooked meat with Miele’s Moisture Plus feature. With the option to add time-controlled bursts of steam to your cooking process, achieving a roast joint that remains tender and juicy on the inside whilst perfectly crisp on the exterior is no longer a work of wizardry. Utilise this feature not only for delivering a splendid Sunday roast, but all manner of recipes. Want to produce an expertly baked loaf of bread that’s as light and fluffy on the inside as it is perfectly browned on the outside? Miele’s got you covered.
Core Temperature Cooking For Precisely Perfect Results
Of course, when it comes to cooking meat, every seasoned chef knows that no two roasts are the same. Traditionally, we rely on a mathematical formula based on the weight of the joint or bird and the temperature of the oven, to work out how long it will take to roast. Miele’s wireless food probe means we can leave these calculations behind us. Stored in the oven door, this easy-to-use probe enables you to cook meat, fish and poultry with perfect precision, utilising core temperature data whilst it cooks.
Ready To Serve: Cook To Perfection Then Pause
Don’t have time to serve everything up straight away? Whether you’re hosting the extended family for Christmas or cooking a cozy Sunday roast, sometimes getting everything served up at once can be a stress-inducing endeavour. Take advantage of the Miele oven’s rapid cooling feature, which enables you to stop the cooking process when your food is cooked… even if you don’t have time to remove it from the oven straight away.
Alternatively, transform your oven into the modern-day hostess trolley, and use it to keep your food at the perfect serving temperature, until it’s time to deliver it to the table. You needn’t be hovering in the kitchen, ready to adjust the temperature; the motorised oven door will open and close accordingly to ensure your food is cooked to perfection – and not a degree further.
The Siemens iQ700 Integrated Oven
Home Connect: Flexibility and Freedom
Another innovative oven designed with ultimate ease of use in mind, the Siemens iQ700 makes straying from your oven stressless, thanks to the Home Connect App. Start and end cooking programmes and adjust oven settings without having to leave your sofa… how’s that for an effortless dinner delivery?
4D hotAir: Comprehensive Capacity to Cook
Is the hierarchy of your roast dinner elements causing undue stress? Can’t cook your Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes simultaneously because they both need to be on the top shelf to stand a chance at success? You can forget about oven hotspots, with Siemens 4D hotAir. Featuring an innovative fan designed to move heat quickly and powerfully through the entirety of your oven’s interior, the iQ700 makes every single oven shelf fair game, no matter what you’re cooking up.
Steam-Savvy Cooking For Flavoursome Food
Alongside its contemporary 4D Hot Air technology, the iQ700 also offers the option to utilise steam, making it the perfect oven for delivering a restaurant-quality roast dinner. The benefits of utilising steam as part of your cooking process, include not only ensuring your food retains more flavour and higher vitamin content than conventionally cooked meat, fish and vegetables, but also making sure those day-later warm ups are just as delicious, too. You can reheat Sunday’s leftover vegetables with steam, and rest assured they’ll be just as crispy and flavoursome as they were the day before.
Roasting Sensor Plus: Maximum Reliability For Meat, Fish and Poultry
The Siemens Roasting Sensor Plus makes cooking with core temperature information even easier, by taking temperature readings from three separate points within your poultry or meat. This eliminates any false readings caused by hollow spaces to ensure the delivery of ultra-reliable results, that will help you present a perfectly cooked roast every single time. Eradicate nerves about cooking something new, safe in the knowledge that your oven knows exactly what’s going on inside your dish, and will guide your cooking time accordingly.
Working with an intelligent oven – that’s on your side on Christmas Day – makes delivering the perfect roast dinner a far more enjoyable and effortless affair. If you’re looking for an oven upgrade that’s going to assist you when it comes to serving up a mouth-watering roast, key features to look for include steam cooking functionality and integrated food probe technology to help you lock in flavour and moisture and abolish the risk of overcooking, as well as as time and effort-saving features that’ll help make coordinating the temperature and timing of a roast, simple.
No-one wants to spend the entirety of Christmas Day stuck to the stove… but let’s not forget, a roast dinner is not just for Christmas. There’s nothing heartier on a cold Sunday afternoon, than gathering the family around the table for a delicious roast. How much more often would you do it, if your oven did all the hard work for you?
Get in touch with your team today here, if you’d like to learn more about incorporating a smart oven into your kitchen upgrade.
Tripping over conkers? Trying to convince the other half that it’s time to crank the heating up? It feels like autumn is well and truly on her way. The time has finally come to bid the barbecue a fond farewell for another year, which can mean only one thing… the kitchen is back in charge once more!
As we retreat from al fresco evenings and light citrusy salads in the sun, it’s time to embrace a whole new season of cooking, and get back to the heart of the home, to see autumn through in style.
So how can we seize the season of getting snuggled up indoors and really make the most of everything it has to offer? The best way to prep for a successful autumn is to ensure your kitchen is ready to become centre-stage once again.
No longer a through-route to an afternoon in the garden, autumn sees the kitchen become, once more, a warm and welcoming central hub of family life. But all those hot soups bubbling on the hob and hearty roast dinners served up to your nearest and dearest require a little prep work… it’s time to get organised! Dive into our guide to getting your kitchen autumn-ready, discover exactly how to make the most of your kitchen’s harvest-time revival!
Prioritise Your Fridge and Freezer Organisation
Now the heat of the summer is behind us and the barbecue is under wraps for another year, you can dedicate an afternoon to re-thinking your cool storage. All those leftover burger baps and hot dog rolls that you threw in the freezer for ‘the next barbecue’ are unlikely to get a look-in now; either defrost them and use them for simple sandwich lunches or, if you’re feeling more creative, turn them into beautiful bread pudding as you won’t want to dine on them in a year’s time! The same goes for all your frozen ice lollies and ice creams; work your way through them to make valuable space for storing batch-cooked stews and soups, or rearrange your freezer so they’re not cluttering up the most easy-access areas.
Likewise, your fridge is going to require a little seasonal makeover, with the preservation drawer shifting from storing light salad ingredients to an abundance of root vegetables.
At Watermark, we appreciate how transitional our kitchens need to be as we work our way through the year, and work with brands which reflect our modern, adaptable approach to functionality and versatility in the heart of the home. For a hassle-free fridge revamp, Miele fridges offer adjustable humidity settings, so your preservation drawer always performs to a high standard to keep fruit and vegetables firm and fresh for noticeably longer.

Make The Most of Seasonal Fruit and Vegetables
Now’s the time to make the most of nature’s harvest – get yourself to your local market and stock up on ripe harvest produce like apples, pears, cauliflower, cabbage, carrots, pumpkins, parsnips and more. If you don’t mind a little foraging, you could even go berry picking from the bushes laden with juicy blackberries, just perfect for baking into a homemade crumble. Remember only to pick berries from above-the-waist height, only pick from land you have permission to cross, and be sure to give them a good wash with a colander and running water once you get them home.
At Watermark, we want to ensure you can make the most of your fresh fruit and vegetables, with brands that deliver only the best in cool storage technology. Neff fridges provide three levels of Freshsafe storage, so you can choose the fridge with a preservation drawer that suits your lifestyle, your shopping habits, and your diet.
Ideal for greens and leafy herbs, level one is the perfect choice for salad lovers, whilst level two incorporates a little extra preservation for the weekly shoppers among us, ensuring fruit and vegetables remain crisp, tasty and ready for snacking throughout the week. Level three, Neff’s optimum preservation system, is ideal for the avocado-lovers out there, and is designed to preserve delicate fruits and herbs, as well as fish and meat.

The Great Cupboard Clear Out: Time To Restore Order
When it comes to making the most of what autumn has to offer in terms of fresh fruit and vegetables, meal planning is your best friend… and the best way to plan ahead is to assess your current cookery reserves. A quick scout through your food store to remove anything that’s out of date and take stock of your store-cupboard staples will enable you to plan your meals – and shop for any missing ingredients – accordingly.
Need a little help keeping on top of your kitchen cupboard ingredients? Learn about our perfect breakfast pantry hideaways here. Not limited to breakfast time alone, our pantries offer an abundance of essential storage that’ll help you maintain easy access and visibility of all your store-cupboard supplies, without having to root around at the back of deep shelves, and peer into the depths of dark cupboards.
Your Top Tips for The Perfect Autumnal Roast
But what to do with all these delicious vegetables? Aside from batch cooking your favourite soups and stews, there’s a tasty way you can cook these vegetables without boiling or steaming them, that the whole family will love this autumn – and that’s roasting them.
Staples for roasting include delicious root veggies like potatoes, carrots and parsnips… but you needn’t limit yourself to these alone! You’d be surprised what else tastes absolutely delicious, when roasted. Throw in some chopped peppers, segmented red onions, a handful of garlic cloves and even greens like broccoli and brussel sprouts for a mouth-watering combination of textures and flavours.
To roast your veg, simply drizzle with olive oil and season with a little salt and pepper, then roast on an oven tray until soft, tender and ever so slightly charred.
Top Tip: Different vegetables take varied lengths of time to roast; so it’s best to give the root vegetables (like carrots and potatoes) a head-start, and add the softer, thinner vegetables (like broccoli, onions and tomatoes) once the root veg are already half-cooked.
If you plan to fill your veg drawer each week, a Siemens fridge freezer with HyperFresh technology would be a fantastic investment; a rippled base design allows cool air to circulate around your fruit and vegetables easily, whilst the humidity can be manually adjusted via a slider, so you can modify your fridge to best suit its contents.
Tis The Season to Start Baking
Another favourite autumn pastime which draws us back into our kitchen is, of course, baking. If you are a baking enthusiast, you can tailor your Watermark kitchen to deliver exactly what you need to embrace your passion. Designing your largest kitchen workspace to be adjacent to your appliance station is a must, enabling you to access your mixer with ease, without compromising on space for creating those all-important batters and doughs.
Custom storage is also a fantastic way to keep big and bulky appliances like mixers and processors from spoiling the aesthetic while you’re entertaining. With a Watermark kitchen, you can create custom-designed homes for your baking gadgetry, meaning you won’t need to reach or stoop to access your unwieldy essentials, nor permanently fill your worktop with them.
Another must for the baking obsessed is a double oven – allowing for multiple bakes at different temperatures and timings to be undertaken, simultaneously. If this is on your dream kitchen wish list, perhaps it’s time to share your ideas with us?
At Watermark, we understand how important it is to have a kitchen that reflects your passion, your purpose and your personality, and work alongside you to help you achieve your dream of the perfect finish. Have an idea you’d like us to bring to life? Get in touch with your team today, here.
