To achieve this, we reimagined the classic Shaker aesthetic with a contemporary twist—introducing handleless cabinetry for a streamlined, minimalist appearance without losing the charm of traditional craftsmanship.

Clean lines and uncluttered surfaces were central to the brief. A carefully considered floating shelf, crafted from matching worktop material, enhances the sense of openness while offering subtle, practical storage. Some clients—including our own Managing Director—opt for a built-in butcher’s block for maximum practicality. Add integrated bins below, and kitchen waste can be swept cleanly straight into the bin.

Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry was designed to discreetly conceal the entrance, creating a seamless continuation of the kitchen design while maintaining easy access to the pantry space behind.

Designer Notes

The client for this project was very keen early on in the process to incorporate timber accents into the space, she stated that this was due to our beautiful display at our Amersham Showroom.  She wanted a contemporary space, with warmer elements to avoid the space felling to stark. We accomplished this by specifying Real Oak Veneer doors and adding in timber areas for the breakfast bar and bespoke table. Incorporating the table into the island creates a real wow factor and results in a multifunctional space suitable for informal dining as well as large dinner parties. We have brought in glass fronted wall units and black panelling to add different finishes to create points of interest throughout the space, whilst keeping the overall look and feel the same. A BORA Pure extractor positioned on the island, allows for cooking whilst still being part of any social events taking place.

The clients at The Vines wanted to create an elegant and contemporary kitchen which could withstand everyday life and bring a sense of calm as you walked in. “Natural and Neutral” is the best way to sum up this project with cashmere and walnut cabinetry being the leading materials, with brass accents to bring everything together. The back run uses a neutral colour to house all major appliances from the Siemens Studioline range and a must-have Quooker boiling tap. Reeded walnut wall units were used that add texture and luxury but also create a natural link between the back run and island. The island is finished in real walnut veneer fronted doors to bring warm and natural tones. Our clients love to host dinner parties, so a Bora hob takes centre stage to allow our clients to cook and host at the same time whilst their guests relax at the breakfast bar. With this being said, what better way than to impress friends and family than with an entirely liquid brass painted bar area with a full height wine fridge to entertain all night long. A truly spectacular piece of craftmanship to compliment the clients brass feature wall art.
